Summary
We handle your information to make referrals to Blue Door Consultants, which may include referral letters, reports and any other information you share for this purpose. Your Blue Door Consultant will provide you with their own Privacy Notice, letting you know their own procedures for looking after your information.
The Blue Door Practice will keep the data required to process and invoice your sessions with Blue Door therapists (e.g. name, contact details, payment details, consent to this privacy notice on file for administration purposes).
In terms of the other provisions under GDPR we would like to assure you that The Blue Door Practice safeguards any information you provide (in accordance with robust document security practices) and you have the right to access, correct or request the deletion of the information we hold. The legal justifications for processing your information rely upon the principles of consent and legitimate interest.

General information (retained by The Blue Door Practice before and after the referral to a Blue Door Consultant):

Information that might be relevant to the referral:
GP Information
Date of birth
Gender (or preferred identity)
Medical and psychiatric conditions
Prescribed medication
Therapy history
Emotional & psychological issues
Relationships: parents, siblings, children, partners
Occupation, employment, education
Racial or ethnic origin
Religious or other beliefs
Offences and alleged offences.
Why we collect this information about you
We collect this information to make sure that we can provide you with an appropriate referral to a Blue Door Consultant and to support the ongoing therapy sessions.
Sharing your personal information
We will share your personal information with a Blue Door Consultant in the process of making the referral to them. We do not share your information with anyone else, unless you ask us to do so.
Storing your personal information
Your contact information may be stored in the cloud and accessed on a mobile phone and a computer system. The cloud and all the devices that have access to it are protected by encryption and local passcodes.
Any information that is more detailed, such as GP referral letters or any other documents that contain confidential information (the GDPR calls this ‘special category data’) will be saved on a secure cloud based storage system with end-to-end encryption and additional password protection. Hard copy documents will be kept under lock and key in a locked building.
In making the referral to a Blue Door Consultant special category data will be transferred to the consultant via an encrypted email service and all hard copy documents will be passed directly to them. Please refer to your Blue Door Consultant’s privacy notice for the way in which they continue to handle your data.
Your general contact information will be stored by The Blue Door Practice for up to six years from your last contact with us and is then securely deleted.
Your rights under the GDPR legislation are:

The Blue Door Practice does not provide information to, any service that carries out profiling or automated decision making.

These rights do not mean that in every case they can be observed and there may be occasions where they may be overridden by a legitimate need to process your information.
