Rosalind Carman

Psychotherapist, CBT Practitioner and EMDR Trauma Therapist

The relationship between therapist and client is key to a successful therapeutic outcome and I work both directively and collaboratively to ensure that clients are moving forward in all areas of their lives towards health and positive change. I recognise that all therapeutic approaches have intrinsic value but I believe a blend of styles can often provide a more tailored approach to meet individual clients’ needs.

I believe that taking a holistic view may often help to explain why difficulties present themselves at various times in our lives and I help to develop strategies in order to overcome them. Combining an existential and practical cognitive approach, I work both long-term and short-term with clients to support them through many life issues including anxiety and depression, loss and divorce and relationships in general.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist in 2012, I worked in the City for a number of years in the financial and business sectors. Since re-training, I have focussed on my work with clients and as a clinical supervisor. I also have a professional interest in the pursuit of psychological well-being and the link between mind and body: in essence, how physical health can suffer as a manifestation of possible underlying emotional or psychological causes.
