Joanna Rodriguez
Health Psychologist and CBT Therapist
I am a Health Psychologist and CBT Therapist with over 18 years of clinical experience across NHS and private practice settings. My approach is collaborative, trusting and compassionate. I aim to create a safe and understanding space, where clients feel listened to and supported as they work through what’s most difficult for them.
I specialise in anxiety, complex trauma, the challenges of living with ongoing health conditions and neurodivergence. I have worked with neurodivergent clients for many years and completed specialist training in CBT for Neurodivergence, which informs my flexible and tailored approach. Alongside CBT, I integrate EMDR, EFT, and other evidence-based, mind–body approaches to support recovery from trauma, calm the nervous system, and help clients reconnect with themselves in ways that feel sustainable.
Therapy with me is active and practical, but it’s also a space for talking, reflecting, and processing experiences. Together we explore how thoughts, emotions, and physical reactions are connected, and I support clients to both make sense of their difficulties and find practical ways of easing distress, building resilience, and feeling more at ease in daily life.
Beyond my clinical work, I have contributed to the development of Primary Care Mental Health Services in the NHS, and I was Director of Studies at the University of Surrey for eight years, leading on the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner programme.
