George Burton
Therapeutic and Psychological Coach
I offer a warm and confidential space to explore the thoughts and feelings that may feel difficult to carry alone. Together, we can reflect on the patterns shaping your life, make sense of underlying emotions, and discover new possibilities for change. Sessions take place at a regular weekly time, either for a set period or on an open-ended basis with regular reviews.
Before qualifying as a psychodynamic counsellor, I worked in broadcasting, where I developed an awareness of the importance of listening, trust, and rapport. These values now underpin my therapeutic work, where my focus is on helping people understand themselves more fully and build more secure and fulfilling ways of relating.
As Esther Perel has said, βthe quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.β I believe therapy can offer a space where those relationships, with ourselves and others, can be explored, understood, and strengthened.
I am accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council for studies in psychodynamic psychotherapy, with particular interests in attachment, sexuality, identity, and developing a stronger sense of self. Alongside my private work, I also have clinical experience in the charity sector, supporting people through a wide range of emotional challenges.
