George Burton

Therapeutic and Psychological Coach

I provide a confidential and encouraging environment for us to meet and explore the things that are distressing you, with the aim of forming new ways to relate to your difficulties and recognise opportunities to change. This can be home-based, or in an environment that you feel allows you to blossom. Our meetings occur at the same time every week either for an agreed period, or on an open-ended basis with a regular review. During the sessions, you are invited to think with me about the way you are living and your feelings – and together we can explore these underlying emotions and find inspiration for change.

To create a supportive space, I maintain an open and accepting stance towards your unique experiences, free from any form of judgement. Coaching with me offers you the opportunity to gain insight about aspects of yourself, why you feel the way you do and how you relate to other people in your life.

Prior to becoming a coach, I developed an awareness of the importance of rapport whilst working for a range of different people in broadcasting. I leant on my early experience as a child actor to become the main point of contact for actors, agents and creatives. As well as keeping up-to-date with the buzz that so often surrounds the industry, I had the privilege of being exposed to many breaking news stories that unfolded. Now working in the therapeutic sector, I like to follow the words of the psychotherapist Esther Perel - “the more we trust, the farther we are able to venture”.

I hope through my work I am able to provide a space where all feel listened to by someone they trust. I am currently accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council for studies in psychodynamic psychotherapy and am particularly interested in sexuality, identity and developing a strong sense of self.
