Jane is an Integrative Child Psychotherapist. At the centre of Jane’s work is the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship with the child, based on empathy, acceptance and curiosity.
She uses creative arts and play to help the child explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Jane will, when appropriate, include the parents in her work with children with regular meetings to support them in understanding thetherapeutic work.
Jane is the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead in a large secondary school. Prior to this, she worked as a therapist at Highgate Primary School, where the therapeutic team was awarded a Guardian Public Service award for the innovative therapeutic model she helped develop. She has been working with children and young people for 13 years, beginning her career as a teacher before specialising in working with children with social and emotional difficulties. Jane also worked with children who struggled in school at the charity, Jamie’s Farm.
